The Garfield City Annex Building is named for U.S. President James A. Garfield. It was at this site on January 10, 1862 that Garfield, as a Union soldier in the Civil War, was given his commission as a Brigadier General in the Union Army after his victory at the Battle of Middle Creek.
The newly remodeled building is conveniently located next to the City of Pikeville Park. The Community Center is available to the public for events, birthday parties, wedding receptions, meetings, banquets, showers, reunions, etc. A deposit is required as well as an agreement to the terms of the lease. The use of the center is granted on a first come first serve basis. Reservations are complete when the Lease Agreement is signed and the deposit is made.
